  • Drogheda Gets Suzuki Dealership

The Frank Keane Group recently celebrated the launch of Frank Keane Suzuki in Drogheda, County Louth. The well attended customer launch event showcased the Suzuki range with special attention placed on the all-new Suzuki Swift Hybrid, introduced just six months ago and already highly acclaimed with over 500 units sold in the Republic of Ireland to date.   The new Swift Hybrid offers low emissions of 99g/km, 4.4l /100km on the combined WLTP fuel consumption cycle and is available from just €21,995 for the Motion grade with manual transmission. Other brand heroes of Vitara Hybrid and S-Cross Hybrid were on display for 2025 order take and with both models available optionally with Suzuki’s ALLGRIP 4x4 technology – ideal for the winter months and for those in rural areas. Suzuki success continues in Ireland with over 2,000 units sold this year, demonstrating once again the brands’ strong reliability and low cost of ownership. Suzuki owners have further peace of mind too once their car reaches the end of the manufacturer’s warranty at three years old with up to seven years warranty offered free of charge. All a customer needs to do is register their three-year-old vehicle when booked in for a service at their local dealer, the warranty commences from that point and is simply renewed at the next service and then annually up to seven years old / 160,000km - whichever comes first.

  • New Nissan Qashqai Arrives

Nissan is once again turning heads in the crossover segment after unveiling the new Qashqai with e-POWER and mild hybrid which takes to Irish roads with a refreshed and modern design that is certain to attract new car buyers. Almost 60,000 Irish drivers have bought a Nissan Qashqai since Nissan created the crossover segment with the original Qashqai in 2007 and the modern version of the car reaffirms it credentials as Ireland’s favourite crossover. The refreshed Qashqai includes bold exterior restyling, comprehensive updates to the infotainment and connected services on-board and a refined interior design, while keeping the essence of what customers love about the car. The new model is more muscular and sharper looking. The front grille has been completely modernised to create a more striking first impression. New headlights bring a sense of purpose and presence, and the rear bumper has also been reshaped to deliver an all-round sleeker and sportier look. The refreshed Qashqai has Google built-in as part of the Nissan Connect infotainment system. The updated car comes as standard with Google Maps, while Google Assistant allows drivers to use their voice for hands free help on the go and to access an ecosystem of apps that are available for download on Google Play. The Around View Monitor system, which is one of the most used features on the Qashqai, has been significantly upgraded. It now features a 3D function allowing the driver to see the car not only from above but also from eight different external camera view points to potentially identify any unseen exterior hazards. A feature known as ‘invisible hood view’ allows the driver to see the position of the front wheels as if looking at them from just behind, which enables them to precisely manoeuvre into tight locations, such as multi-story car parks. AVM tech can also be used to help drivers make a safe entry from a difficult exit onto a road where visibility is limited. The interior of the new Qashqai has been upgraded to offer a more premium feel. The upper grades feature a new application of AlcantaraÒ on the dashboard, door inserts, door armrests, centre storage lid and knee pads to elevate the onboard experience, along with updated seat trims. The new Qashqai is now available with e-POWER, Nissan’s unique and innovative electrified powertrain. The petrol engine charges a battery that powers an electric motor which makes it possible to drive the car in EV mode 100% of the time, unlike traditional hybrids. Drivers can enjoy an EV like experience without having to think about range or recharging. Customers seeking to take their first step towards electrified driving can also choose the new Qashqai mild hybrid which uses a petrol engine to power the wheels while a lithium battery provides support. The system stores energy to power the vehicle’s electrical equipment and to lower fuel consumption. Seamus Morgan, Managing Director at Nissan Ireland said:   “The Nissan Qashqai has been one of Ireland’s favourite cars since Nissan pioneered the crossover segment in 2007. The new Qashqai has been completely modernised and its new design, upgraded tech and refined interior continues to set the standard for crossovers.” “The latest changes greatly enhance everything that our customers love about Qashqai, adding even more intuitive and convenient technology. Families all over Ireland have grown up with Qashqai and we are proud to unveil how Nissan has reimagined the car so that it can better meet the everyday needs of drivers, especially those with families big and small.” The Qashqai 1.3 Mild Hybrid is available from €39,900 for the SV grade, from €43,300 for the SV Premium Grade, and from €46,300 for the SV Tech grade. It is also available with CVT transmission from €43,400 for the SV grade, from €46,800 for the SV Premium grade, from €49,800 for the SV Tech grade, and from €52,700 for the SVE grade. Nissan is launching the Qashqai e-POWER with four grades. The entry grade SV model is available from €45,000. The SV Premium grade is priced from €48,400, the SV Tech grade from €51,400 and the top of the range SVE grade from €54,400. Alloy wheels, full LED headlights, auto headlights with high beam assist, and rain sensing wipers are standard across the range. Standard safety features also include rear parking sensors, blind spot warning and intervention, traffic sign recognition, Intelligent Cruise Control, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, and Intelligent Front Emergency Braking with pedestrian, cyclist and junction assist. Further details and information are available by contacting your local Nissan dealer or by visiting www.nissan.ie

  • Renault 5 E-Tech

We covered the unveil of the all new electric Renault 5 earlier this year at the Geneva Motor show and I think it’s fair to say the response was one of great enthusiasm. The Renault 5, an icon of the 1970s and 80s, had returned with a bold and modern interpretation that blends nostalgia with the future and we couldn’t wait to drive it. Well, the time has come and we now find ourselves in the south of France for a first drive opportunity along the twisty riviera roads. Set to replace the Renault Zoe, the Renault 5 aims to offer a fun, retro, and affordable urban EV, while delivering modern performance with the cutting-edge technology we have come to expect from Renault. The first thing that strikes you is the size and scale of the new Renault 5. It’s not massive but considerably larger than its namesake of old would suggest. It somehow retains the spirit of the original with its boxy, compact proportions and minimalist design. The front end sports a sleek, closed-off grille but still honours the familiar face of its predecessor with cool LED headlights, and pixelated shape DRL’s for that futuristic look. Chief Renault designer Gilles Vidal has done a fantastic job of channeling the original Renault 5’s design cues with muscular wheel arches, short overhangs and the glowing charge level indicator which, mimics a bonnet vent. The square taillights, and small spoiler add a further dash of sportiness to the rear! Opening the drivers door ahead of our test drive you are greeted with a blend of nostalgia through a minimalist but high-tech dash. The dashboard, reminiscent of the 1970s model, has a retro-futuristic appeal with its simple lines and practical layout. The seating is comfortable, and the denim like materials used, feel hardwearing leaning more towards practicality rather than premium. The familiar 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system that sits alongside a fully digital driver display familiar from the electric Megane gets further enhanced for 5 with the latest version of Easy Link software. This system offers the smooth integration of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with a new virtual travelling companion called Reno Avatar, which is powered by Chat GBT.  The comfortable multi-functional steering wheel provides access to a range of controls, ensuring the driver can keep their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road. Although compact, it feels surprisingly spacious, up front thanks to clever packaging and a well-thought-out design. Taller teenagers might struggle a little in the rear but thats probably to be expected from a car in this segment. Boot space is plentiful with an indicated capacity to hold 326 litres of precious cargo. Ok, down to the business end now and what is under that bonnet? Our test car had a 150 horsepower electric motor, powered by a 52 kWh battery pack, which delivers an estimated range of around 410 kilometres on a single charge. The 100 km/h sprint can be completed in just 8 seconds and it felt plenty fast as we blasted along some challenging routes in ‘Sport’ mode. Three other modes to include ‘Comfort’, ‘Eco’ and ‘Perso’ combines the various equipment settings to provide a different feeling and driving features. If you would like more steering wheel stiffness or better accelerator pedal response, then simply configure this into your personal setting. The sharp front axle assembly borrowed from the Captur / Clio has been tweaked for excellent turn in which, works in harmony with a multi-link rear suspension system for a well balanced chassis with excellent damping over the many speed ramps we encountered on our test route. Towards the back end of 2024, a second 95 horsepower “Urban” 40 kWh battery with up to 312 km WLTP range and will be available to order also but prices have yet to be confirmed. The Renault 5 is a delightful blend of the past and future no doubt here to rival the likes of the Fiat 500 Electric and the Mini Electric. By combining iconic design with modern electric performance, Renault has created an EV that is not only functional but also fun and full of character on the road. It drives as well as it looks and judging by the numbers of registered interest across Europe, it will become one of Renault’s most popular vehicles! While the EV market is becoming increasingly crowded, the Renault 5's unique charm and practical efficiency should give it a distinct edge over some of its competitors in our opinion. Soon after Renault launched the 5, the company has already unveiled another nostalgic throwback with the 4. Again this is set to be another thoroughly modern EV that shows Renault is serious about leading the charge into the electric future with exciting vehicles that those of us of a certain vintage, will remember all too well. Irish pricing for the new Renault 5 will be announced at the upcoming NEVO Electric Vehicle Show in Dublin’s RDS this November 10th where DoneDeal will also have a stand. The Renault 5 will also be on display for the first time before we see the first units rolling on Irish roads in 2025.

  • Petrol and Diesel Prices Continue To Fall

Despite the uncertainty in the middle east, fuel prices have dropped at the pumps for the third consecutive month here in Ireland. Petrol has dropped by 2 cents to €1.72 per litre, while diesel prices also dropped by 1 cent to an average of €1.66 per litre. Crude oil prices fluctuate daily at around $74 per barrel. Electric vehicle owners can expect to pay an average of €808.64 per year to cover an average of 17,000 km per year, which is a reduction roughly of €49 per year this month.    Jennifer Kilduff, Head of Marketing & PR for the AA (Ireland), stated “Again we’re seeing the average price of fuel decrease at the pumps. The EV driver is better off this month as a result of the standard 24 hour rates decreasing with energy provider Energia. We also know that Electric Ireland is reducing their rates from November 1st, so rates will only continue to get better for EV drivers over the next few months.”   The AA continue to offer customers a 3c per litre on petrol and diesel and 6c per litre on milesPlus fuel at participating Circle K garages using the AA Ireland App. “Shopping around and planning your fuel refills can save you some money.” Kilduff added.    Motorists can enhance fuel efficiency by reducing speed and regularly maintaining and servicing their vehicles according to the manufacturer's recommended guidelines. This not only boosts fuel economy but also improves overall vehicle safety and performance. To see our full DoneDeal guide to fuel saving tips, please click here.

  • Renault 4 E-Tech Electric Preview

We think it's safe to say the original Renault 4 can be neatly summed up in one word: versatile! Thirty years on from the end of its career, that same word is just as appropriate. Today, Renault 4 E-Tech electric – a car of the Renaulution – joins Renault's electric range as the car for every need. Its ambitions are expressed by the thinking behind its design: to reflect customer usage as widely as possible. To this end, it was designed for everyday needs as well as for weekends and leisure. It is ideal for both solo driving and family travel, with normal or intensive use of the boot. This of course is the legacy of the original R4. Like its predecessor, Renault 4 E-Tech electric is taking the long view with a new ambition: allowing everyone to explore the possibilities of electric vehicles. As the ‘blue-jean’ car of the 21st century, it is designed to do it all. It’s ready for the city and countryside, mountains and motorways. Demonstrating its versatility, Renault 4 E-Tech electric combines exceptional boot space with a modular layout that is new to this segment. It includes 420 cubic litres of space, a low load sill, ingenious storage compartments, a folding rear bench seat and a flat-folding passenger seat – a first for a Renault electric vehicle! Everything you need for any purpose! At the same time, the increased ground clearance and advanced Extended Grip traction control system ensure a comfortable ride, both on tarmac and on bumpy tracks. All these features, along with the record-beating interior space, low centre of gravity, roadholding, One Pedal function and range of up to 400 km, were made possible by the dedicated AmpR Small platform, the only one of its kind in Europe. Shared with Renault 5 E-Tech electric, this platform delivers significant economies of scale, with no trade-offs for customers. Renault 4 E-Tech electric is the compact car you need to stay cool in traffic jams and on long journeys. Renault 4 is back, but without nostalgia for the past. This much was clear from the muscular lines of the 4EVER Trophy show car in 2022. The aim was to transform and reinvent the legendary R4. With its retro-futuristic lines and stylish, go-anywhere looks, Renault 4 E-Tech electric is very much a contemporary car, adding a modern twist to some of the key features on the original Renault 4. The grille is the first aspect to catch the eye. Strongly inspired by the original Renault 4, it is nevertheless unique with its continuously illuminated surround and Renault logo in the centre. Made from a single piece (1.45m long), it is a world first in the automotive industry, a challenge addressed jointly by the Design, Engineering and Production departments at Renault and Ampere. At the rear, the three-part lights gain a new lease of life with modern lines and a distinctive LED signature that pays homage to the capsule shape of the 60s icon. This has the unexpected effect of making the tailgate bigger than it appears. This was achieved by extending the door into the bumper for a bigger opening and lower load sill, in the same way as on the original Renault 4. The elegant rear quarter-light maintains not only its natural position on the side, but also the distinctive lines of its predecessor. The three identifying stripes sculpted into the door panels add a touch of distinction to the profile of Renault 4 E-Tech electric, bringing to mind the Renault 4 GTL. Finally, the roof maintains the emblematic design of the historic model, with the addition of roof bars for today’s needs. Like all the latest Renault vehicles, Renault 4 E-Tech electric is packed with intuitive and useful technological innovations. These features deliver a new kind of onboard experience, based on well-being, simplicity, comfort, seamless connectivity and safety. An approach to innovation that is clearly part of the DNA of voitures à vivre , always seeking to make the best technology available to everyone. It starts with the experience behind the wheel. Renault 4 E-Tech electric is an agile vehicle delivering an exceptionally dynamic performance, with its optimised front suspension, and multi-link rear suspension, a feature previously reserved for segments further up the market. Renault 4 E-Tech electric is also packed with advanced comfort and safety technology, including Active Driver Assist for level 2 assisted driving, no fewer than 26 driving aids, and My Safety Switch. This popular function on new Renault models lets drivers activate their preferred settings for five ADAS at the touch of a button.  For enhanced safety, the new dynamic braking system combines braking and ESP in the same module to halve reaction time. Other functions include Fireman Access and occupant safe exit alert, as well as Safety Score and Safety Coach, already available on Scenic and Renault 5 E-Tech electric. Renault 4 E-Tech electric also includes the OpenR Link multimedia system with Google built-in, as well as Reno, the official Renault avatar, a new everyday companion. Working with the ChatGPT artificial intelligence chatbot, Reno completes the range of technologies available on Renault 4 E-Tech electric. Its role is to help customers understand aspects relating to electrical functions. It is easy to use, even for non-geeks. Last, Renault 4 E-Tech electric comes with a new 11 kW AC bidirectional charger compatible with V2L (vehicle-to-load) and V2G (vehicle-to-grid) technologies. In this way, it can be transformed into an energy source and even become a player in the ecosystem by feeding carbon-free electricity back into the grid using Mobilize services. A wide range of services are also available for day-to-day driving with an electric vehicle: intelligent charging with Mobilize Smart Charge, access to over 800,000 charging points in 25 European countries with Mobilize Charge Pass and automatic charging without a badge or credit card with the Plug & Charge function. This is an exciting car for the brand and another nod to the heritage models that made the brand so successful in the past. We can't wait to see one on Irish roads!

  • John Cooper Works Treatment For MINI Cooper & MINI Aceman

Following the rollout of the latest generation MINI family this year, MINI is building on the success of the MINI Cooper Electric and MINI Aceman models with the introduction of John Cooper Works variants for both cars. Announced at the Paris Motor Show 2024, the MINI John Cooper Works Electric and MINI John Cooper Works Aceman follow a rich heritage of previous John Cooper Works models and maintain the characteristics worthy of the JCW name, but on fully-electric vehicles for the very first time. The MINI John Cooper Works Electric and MINI John Cooper Works Aceman are priced from €47,300 and €49,510 RRP respectively, with first customer deliveries commencing April 2025. Over six decades ago designer John Cooper developed a sportier version of the classic Mini, becoming an instant success on racetracks and rally courses globally before the name was cemented in history with three victories at the Monte Carlo Rally across the 1960s. John Cooper Works has been transferring this success from the racetrack onto traditional MINI models ever since. Both cars provide 340Nm of torque from their 54.2kWh batteries and offer a maximum speed of 199 km/h. The MINI John Cooper Works Electric reaches 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds, while the MINI John Cooper Works Aceman accelerates 0- 100km/h in 6.4 seconds. Engineers have developed an all-new electric boost function to further enhance power delivery on the new electric John Cooper Works models, giving the driver an additional 20kW of electric motor power once John Cooper Works mode has been activated using a rocker switch on the steering wheel. Using this function, both vehicles achieve 258hp. New John Cooper Works specific suspension maximises MINI go-kart handling, while high performance grip tyres come as standard on all electric John Cooper Works models to support grounded and agile handling. The exterior design of the new John Cooper Works variants builds on the design language of the standard model while showing a more aggressive appearance. The red, white, and black John Cooper Works logo – inspired by the chequered flag of motorsport – offers a nod to racing heritage, while a gloss black trim is standard across the model. Black side skirts, aeroblades at C-pillar level and a rear spoiler optimise aerodynamics, while red vertical reflectors and diffusers contrast with the rear black apron. Aerodynamically optimised wheel designs in black with red accents are available exclusively for the all-electric models, with 18” for the MINI John Cooper Works Electric and 19” for the MINI John Cooper Works Aceman offered as standard. Chili Red brake callipers sporting a white JCW logo and a Chili Red roof are standard, while a John Cooper Works specific multi-tone black to red roof is available optionally. The black and red JCW colour scheme continues inside the vehicle, where a black and red pattern decorates the knitted surface of the dashboard. The driver and front passenger seats are upholstered in black synthetic leather with multicoloured knitted fabric at the shoulders and red accent stitching, while the ambient interior lighting illuminates the headlining as a JCW model exclusive feature. The high-resolution 24cm circular OLED display is the heart of the MINI cabin, providing all relevant vehicle data, air conditioning, media, phone, and navigation settings. The new MINI Experience Modes - Vivid, Core, Green, Timeless, Balance, Go Kart and Personal mode - allow the ambience in the interior to be customised to further the personalisation of the cars . Thanks to 12 ultrasonic sensors and four Surround View cameras, the MINI John Cooper Works Electric and MINI John Cooper Works Aceman can identify vacant parking spaces with greater precision, automatically initiating parking manoeuvres where space is limited, while the new Remote Parking function included as part of the Parking Assistant Plus option enables the vehicle to be parked using a smartphone. This functionality enables the vehicle to be driven out of a parking space automatically, making it easier to get into the car if space at the side is too limited. With MINI Digital Key Plus, owners can utilise their smartphone as a vehicle key for a convenient and personalised experience. Replacing the conventional key, the digital key can be transferred between several users. For a streamlined user experience, as soon as the driver is less than three metres away from the vehicle, the front and rear lights begin a welcome animation, and the doors unlock automatically. Using augmented reality, complicated turning situations are visualised on the central display as part of the optional MINI Navigation AR package, while additional steering and lane assistance is offered through Driving Assistant Plus. The MINI John Cooper Works Aceman and MINI John Cooper Works Electric can be charged via 11 kW AC and up to 95 kW DC, variant dependent, meaning at a fast-charging station, the battery for both models can be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in under 30 minutes. By using MINI Navigation, the vehicle will ensure the high-voltage battery reaches the ideal temperature for efficient charging in advance, thus reducing charging time. Customers can also optimise charging for their schedule, setting charging start times, active charging windows, and target battery capacity by departure time. The MINI app provides a convenient overview of the vehicle status and charging process, including current battery status, charging-optimised route plans and charging history. Finally, drivers can instruct that the interior cabin is air conditioned by a set departure time.

  • 25 years JUMBO: Loader wagon from world market leader Pöttinger celebrates its anniversary

The very first JUMBO was presented to the world in 1999 – a revolution in the agricultural machinery market. At the time, the JUMBO was regarded as "the new dimension in large-capacity silage wagons" and was the first and only system to stand up to the emerging field chopper. The JUMBO stood for efficiency, performance, top forage quality, operational reliability, economy, comfort and easy maintenance. And it was the first machine at Pöttinger to be designed entirely with 3D CAD. JUMBO inventor Pöttinger is now the world market leader in loader wagons. With a stable export quota of around 90 per cent, the company from Grieskirchen is a highly relevant global player. A quarter of a century of JUMBO – that's 25 years of experience and development, which has resulted in numerous sensational innovations. An absolute novelty on the loader wagon market was the option for short-chopping the crop. The JUMBO 8000 model was the world's first 25-millimetre harvester wagon. Other innovations include the EASY MOVE swing-out knife bank, which ensures ergonomic working. The JUMBO beater rotors are used to loosen the crop. The fully automated AUTOCUT knife sharpening system ensures consistent cutting quality throughout the entire working day. The pick-up is responsible for the clean and tidy collection of the crop. The once rigid front panel of the JUMBO 1000 has now become a movable, smart front panel. While the JUMBO was designed for tractors with up to 280 hp in 1999, the 7000 and 8000 series can be powered by tractors with a maximum of 500 hp. The JUMBO has always been a guarantee for the best forage. As a favourite on farms and with contractors, it has dedicated fans around the world – even outside of agricultural work. In the Pöttinger fan shop, it's not just T-shirts and caps for young and old that are very popular. The loader wagons in toy format, the JUMBO pedal tractor trailer for kids and many other elefantastic fan articles are also in great demand.

I am convinced that the Tayron will make its mark and be well received by our customers.” Martin Sander, Member of the Volkswagen Brand Board of Management responsible for Sales, Marketing and After Sales: “The new Tayron combines everything that a Volkswagen stands for: versatility, comfort and new technology. With up to seven seats, a premium interior, generous storage space and innovative drive systems, the large SUV is the ideal companion for families and adventurers alike. At the same time, we are making a clear statement with the Tayron: practicality and efficiency complement one another perfectly – for a driving experience that is up to our high standards.” Kai Grünitz, Member of the Volkswagen Brand Board of Management responsible for Development: “Following on from the Tiguan and Passat, the Tayron benefits from the advantages of the MQB evo, too. With numerous technology modules, it impresses with a new generation of plug-in hybrid drives with electric ranges of over 100 kilometres, premium-level interior quality, intuitive infotainment system and the latest generation of driver assist systems including voice control with ChatGPT.” Powerful exterior design and a premium feel inside. Measuring around 4.8 m in length, the Tayron is characterised by a clear, striking SUV design. At the front, LED headlights and the standard illuminated Volkswagen badge create an unmistakeable light signature as night falls. The same applies to the rear with its full-length LED crossbar and illuminated Volkswagen logo. Sharply drawn lines emphasise the premium feel of the Tayron and its elongated silhouette. This approach is also reflected in the interior: here, the design is dominated by surfaces with a pleasant feel and, depending on equipment, elegant materials such as ArtVelours Eco (microfibre) and authentic open-pore wood as well as illuminated decorative trim. Extensive standard equipment. The SUV’s entry-level package is known as the Life equipment line, which is followed by two top-of-the-range packages: Elegance and R-Line. As the entry-level version, the Life version of the Tayron already offers a wide range of standard equipment. This includes nine airbags, a three-zone automatic air conditioner, 10-colour background lighting, a multifunctional driving experience control (controls the driving profiles – including all-wheel drive profiles for 4MOTION models –, audio volume and activation of Atmospheres as pre-programmed lighting and audio moods), an infotainment system (screen measures 32 centimetres across the diagonal) with an activatable navigation function and App-Connect Wireless (for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), digital instruments, LED headlights including automatic main beam control (Light Assist), illuminated Volkswagen logo at the front and rear, 3D tail light clusters, sun blinds in the rear doors, as well as 17-inch alloy wheels. Large range of assist systems. The Tayron Life’s standard assist systems include adaptive cruise control (ACC), the oncoming vehicle braking when turning function, lane change system (Side Assist), lane keeping system (Lane Assist), an automatic emergency braking system including pedestrian and cyclist monitoring (Front Assist), Park Assist Plus, rear view camera system, dynamic road sign display and the new exit warning system. As an extension of the lane change system, the latter can – within the system limits – prevent one of the doors from being opened if another road user approaches from behind. Attractive equipment options. Optional highlights include systems such as the adaptive chassis control DCC Pro, IQ.LIGHT HD matrix headlights with interactive lighting functions and Travel Assist for assisted longitudinal and lateral guidance. Also available: the IDA voice assistant with ChatGPT integration (in conjunction with the optional Discover infotainment package), a tilting and sliding panoramic sunroof, a 700-watt sound system from Harman-Kardon, leather upholstery with electrically adjustable seats including a massage and ventilation function, plus an electrically activated child safety lock for the rear. Mild hybrid, plug-in hybrid, petrol or diesel. After launching all versions with a mild hybrid drive (eTSI), Volkswagen will also offer the Tayron with two plug-in hybrid drives (eHybrid), two turbocharged petrol engines (TSI) and two turbocharged diesel engines (TDI). All drive systems are coupled to an automatic direct shift gearbox (DSG). Even the entry-level eTSI engine with an output of 110 kW (150 PS) is a high-tech drive system (mild hybrid with 48 V technology). However, the advantages of the electric and petrol drives are combined in the two innovative plug-in hybrid models. They deliver a system power of 150 kW (204 PS) and 200 kW (272 PS). Thanks to the 19.7 kWh (net) battery, both Tayron eHybrids can achieve electric ranges of over 100 km. Their batteries can be charged with up to 11 kW at an AC wallbox or AC charging station and with up to 50 kW at DC quick-charging stations. The largest TDI with 142 kW (193 PS) is also very efficient and is paired with 4MOTION all-wheel drive as standard. All Tayron 4MOTION models are designed for maximum trailer weights of up to 2,500 kg (braked, 12 per cent gradient). Thanks to the Trailer Assist manoeuvring assist system, which comes as standard in conjunction with the towing bracket (folding), even large horse boxes or boat trailers are easy to handle. Four drive systems available for the start of pre-sales. Four drive system options will be available when pre-sales start tomorrow. The entry-level version is the 110 kW eTSI in the Life specification package, which is available from 45,475 euros. In addition, the two eHybrid versions and the most powerful TDI with 142 kW are also available to order.
