Steady Fuel Prices Recorded For March
Monitoring the cost of petrol, diesel, and electricity is crucial for Irish motorists to manage their expenses effectively. It allows individuals to plan their budgets, identify potential savings, and adjust travel habits. Staying informed also helps drivers make environmentally conscious decisions by considering fuel-efficient or electric vehicles, contributing to both financial and ecological sustainability.
The latest AA Ireland Fuel Survey shows that petrol and diesel prices have remained steady for March, following recent increases in previous months. For EV drivers there is positive news as the average cost has dropped a further 3 cents compared to last month due to applied discounts on standard rates.
Elena Leao, Marketing & PR at AA Ireland, commented, "Stable fuel prices may offer some relief for motorists, but with ongoing cost-of-living pressures, it’s always worth finding ways to stretch every euro at the pump. Simple habits like anticipating traffic flow to avoid harsh braking and acceleration and ensuring your vehicle is serviced regularly can make a real difference over time."
Leao also highlighted how EV drivers are seeing slight reductions in costs. "The decrease in EV running costs is welcome news. As more drivers make the switch to electric, understanding charging plans and maximising off-peak rates can result in even greater savings."
