Polestar, the Swedish premium electric performance car brand, strengthens the collaboration with OHM Group to assume Polestar’s sales and distribution operations in Ireland from 15 April 2025. OHM Group is involved in the exclusive distribution and retail of international brands and related aftersales services in the automotive and power solutions markets.
The Distribution Agreement with OHM Group is a long-term strategic move that will strengthen the Polestar brand in Ireland, including the development of a new permanent Polestar Space in Sandyford, Dublin in a transformative year with two new luxury electric SUVs, Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 now launched in the market.
This comes at an exciting time for the brand. Polestar launched in Ireland in 2022 with OHM Group’s retail business, Spirit Motor Group, as its sole partner with the premium electric fastback Polestar 2 and has delivered over 750 cars to date. Last year Polestar launched two new products - Polestar 3 and Polestar 4. In 2025 the Swedish premium electric performance brand plans to launch the Polestar 5, an F-segment electric performance 4-door GT.
Scott Dicken, Commercial Director Europe at Polestar, said: “Spirit Motor Group has been our committed partner from the start in Ireland. We believe that the best way to develop our presence is to deepen our collaboration with OHM Group taking direct responsibility for the distribution of Polestar cars in Ireland. We have an exciting future with two brand new products on the road and another hero car coming later this year and I am excited to see the growth accelerate together with OHM Group’s vast experience and expertise. Customers can expect the usual high levels of service and support going forward.”
Gerard O’Farrell, Managing Director of OHM Group’s Car Division added: “We are excited to deepen our relationship with Polestar and take on the distribution responsibility for this hugely exciting EV brand in Ireland. We see a bright future for this distinctive, premium brand in Ireland and are delighted to play a key role in its continued development at a pivotal stage in Ireland’s transition to electric vehicles. With the expanded model range, this competitively priced premium brand is poised for growth in Ireland.”
To support the growth of the Polestar brand in Ireland, OHM Group’s retail arm, Spirit Motor Group will develop a new permanent Polestar Space in Sandyford, Dublin. The new state-of-the-art Polestar facility with a seven-car showroom and customer handover bays is located on the current site in Sandyford, providing the brand with a permanent home.
Alan Moore, Managing Director of Spirit Motor Group confirmed: “Ireland’s exclusive Polestar Space facility will feature the full range of Polestar models, offering our customers a very premium buying experience commensurate with this distinctive brand. We look forward to welcoming many new customers to Polestar Dublin in Sandyford which will be ready during Q2 2025.
Aftersales support will continue to be offered by Spirit Motor Group and Polestar’s other five service partners in Ireland will continue to offer aftersales support, ensuring a seamless experience for Polestar customers.
