Irish Sales Figures Show Strong Start for Volvo
This week Volvo Car Ireland has announced the registration of 536 cars in January 2025, the highest number recorded since 2008, and double the number year-on-year, from January 2024. The XC60 was once again the top performer for the month, followed very closely by one of our newest models, the all-electric EX30. Not only has the EX30 quickly climbed to become one of Volvo’s most popular models in Ireland, but it also finished the month as the best-selling electric vehicle in the premium segment.
Launching little over a year and a half ago, The EX30 embodies everything that you would expect of Volvo but in a smaller package. It is designed to have the smallest CO2 footprint of any Volvo car to date, and to make people’s lives safer, more convenient, and more enjoyable through cutting-edge technology and Scandinavian design.
Electric sales were particularly robust for the month, representing 43% of the share. In fact, Volvo Car Ireland finished the month as the no.1 premium brand for electric car sales. Currently there are four electric cars available for sale in Ireland the EX30, EX40, EC40 and EX90. Soon joining this lineup will be the ES90 which will be unveiled in Stockholm on 5th March 2025.
Richard Molloy, Commercial Director of Volvo Car Ireland said, ‘We are extremely pleased with our January performance which could not have been achieved without the dedication of our retail partners. We are particularly satisfied to see the EX30 being recognised for the excellent car it is, and we look forward to the launch of the ES90 next month further developing our electric portfolio.
