We’ve added some extra payment options to make paying for your ad on DoneDeal.ie even easier.

Realex Payments is a leading European payment service provider and even better are an Irish company and they have come on board with us so that we can now take Visa and Mastercard payments directly.

The best part of working with Realex is that we can finally accept laser card payments for ads on DoneDeal. Hopefully these extra payment options will make using our site even easier for our DoneDealers. Let us know what you think.

We had some hilarious toasts sent to us for this months competition, picking a winner was certainly a hard job! But it had to be done and here it is: “Always do sober what you said you would do drunk….. That will teach you to keep your mouth shut!!!!!”

International Beer Day!

August 5th is International Beer Day. We want to celebrate by giving away an International Beer Day Goody Box which includes beer bottle drinking goblets, beer shampoo, a beer carrying belt, a beer hat, a cool dart board and lots of drinkable and edible goodies to one of our lovely newsletter readers. We also have one hundred exclusive DoneDeal.ie bottle openers for the runners up.

€15,349.80 for Niall Mellon Township Trust

We had another very successful month raising money for charity. For the month of June, DoneDeal.ie users raised a grand total of €15,349.80 for the Niall Mellon Township Trust. 30 cent of each ad placed went directly to the trust. So a big thank you too all!

The Niall Mellon Township Trust aims to provide quality social housing for the impoverished communities in the townships of South Africa. If you want to know more about the Niall Mellon Township Trust or get involved, check out their website.

Charity Jump

Well, the date has come and gone and I lived to tell the tale! Flying High for Simon was a great success. Due to unforeseen circumstances Donna was unable to take part in the jump in the end so Mel did it solo! All the gang from DoneDeal travelled down to Waterford to cheer on, so a great day out was had by all. Donna is now just dying to get her teeth into the next Charity Event so watch this space….Just click here if you are interested in finding out more details on doing a Tandem Skydive. Jumping out of a plane at 10,000 feet and reaching speeds of up to 120mph may not be for everyone but all I can say is WOW.

I would like to give a big shout out to Dave at the Tandem Skydive Club and thank him for taking care of me on the day.

Kevin is the latest addition to the DoneDeal family. We would like you to join us in making him feel at home. Kevin will be working alongside Declan on the web development side of the site.

Kevin lives in Wexford with his wife and little boy, Joshua. He is originally from Dublin but dont hold that against him!! He loves music and plays the keyboards when he can. His favourite band is XTC and he has been known to watch Lord of the Rings on more than one occasion.

We were recently shortlisted for the Wexford County Enterprise Board’s Small Business Award. Emer and Melrona went along to the Awards and were delighted when we won the Small Business Award category. We would like to congratulate those who were shortlisted and who won their category on the night. Emer and Melrona were also very happy that they managed to negotiate the steps of the stage without falling out of their heels. Our thanks to the Wexford Chamber, Wexford County Enterprise Board and the EPA for organising the whole event.

June Charity – Niall Mellon Township Trust

June is another Charity Month at DoneDeal and this month for each ad placed 30 cent will be given to the Niall Mellon Township Trust. The trust was established in 2002 with the aim of providing quality social housing for the impoverished communities in the townships of South Africa. Did you know that there are 4.3 million people living in shacks in townships across South Africa? With the generosity and support received by Irish people and from across the globe, the trust has managed to build 13,500 homes and house 80,000 people to date.

In addition, each year Irish volunteers and friends from across the globe head to South Africa in week long “Building Blitzes”. Click here for some video coverage from 2009. Maybe one or two of us here in DoneDeal might put on our hard hats and head out there in November to give a helping hand!

Congratulations to everyone that picked Germany as the winner of the 2010 Eurovision song contest. All correct entrants names were put into a hat this morning and we have now picked a winner of a brand new Nintendo wii console aswell as a Karaoke Revolution game so you can get your singing voice ready for next years competition.
