Spring Clean Competition!
by Donna in category Competitions
April is the time of the year when everyone starts to spring clean their homes. (This is where DoneDeal.ie comes in very handy!)
Some of us have a little more to clean than a house though … our conscience.
So, if you’ve got a little secret you need to share, tell us. Just so you know, Emer told us that she’s been stealing Declan’s biscuits when he had his back turned – naughty naughty!
We have 20 super cool spring cleaning packs up for grabs for the 20 best entries!! (so you can get on with cleaning the house !) Closing date for entries is April 20th.
Leave your comment below with your little secret and let the spring cleaning begin!!

I secretly love watching some football matches with my boyfriend but I can’t tell him or else that is all we will end up watching day and night!
I’m not known for my love of ironing. When my friend came to stay recently, she asked me if she could use the iron & ironing board. It took me ten minutes to find it and then I had to secretly hoover the ironing board so that it was in a state to be used!!
I promise I will turn over a new leaf if I win this prize!
I took yesterday off work because it was sunny and I wanted to go to the beach with friends, not because of a delayed reaction to my cats death….
Note to self: think of better excuses to get off work.
removing coffee and tea stains …..an equal mixture of salt and white vinegar will clean coffie and tea stains from cups …also white vinegar can be used for brighter stainless steel ,, as an oven cleaner ,,,,cleaning kettles ..//just boil 1/4 pint of white v in..with water ……..it will also work with bread bin to keep them fresh good luck and enjoy
My husband, in the true spirit kindness and generousity, selected and purchased some suit shirts for me last year. (7or
Although all designer and very nice they were all too big and not to my liking. I advertised them on Donedeal, sold them and pocketed the money for myself!!!
That, eh, “special” DVD, I came home from work one day, found it in the DVD player, chopped it up into little pieces and used it to light the fire….he’s been blaming his brother for stealing it for the last three years! Also, it wasn’t A who ruined the kitchen floor with her spike-heeled boots that Christmas, it was my dodgy slipper with a stone stuck in the bottom…PHEW!!! feel better already!!!
Last week the cable guy had to come to my house to fix the cable wire the dog chewed in two place.
I didn’t tell my mother what the dog (Springer Spaniel) did because she would kill him as he likes to chew everything.
I had to tell the cable guy not to say it to her either!!!
We told her there was a bad connection. She believed it…
Have to say that I cleaned the toilet with my boyfriend’s toothbrush and put it back (gently rinsed) after I found out he had been cheating on me. Kiss that sucker! Of course I left him afterwards.
To clean your microwave and leave it smelling nice, slice a lemon and put it in a small bowl of water, it will do all the cleaning for you and leave the microwave smelling great. Hows that for an easy tip
I bought a beautiful perfect storage unit for e175 on DONEDEAL.
My husband and I had seen a similar unit new in a shop, and decided we could not afford it at e900.
He was delighted when I told him about my DONEDEAL bargain
costing only e300, and handed over the cash gladly.
Yippeee e125 for me.
But dont tell anyone.
Just a quick one ( & quick to do).. always keep thye sink clean if stainless steel use Brillo to get rid of scum . Once the sink is clean you immediately fel better about the kitchen and can move onto bigger jobs!!
What a nice present it would be to receive a cleaning kit on April 20th as it is our wedding anniversary and on April 21st it is my birthday could not think of a nicer present to receive for my birthday

My attic has to be attacked every so often, as the birds deposit lots of sticks, straw and other bits of rubbish that they gather around the yard. A prize like this might remind be that it’s time I tackle clearing their spring collection.
Hey guys, thanks for all your comments…….but….still waiting to hear some secrets! Remember, the 20 best secrets shared with us will win the cleaning kits!!
Thanks,
Donna

I pretended that my car was getting fixed so I didn’t have to collect my friend’s mother-in-law from the train station. In my defence, the chamipons league quarter final was on and I wanted to watch it on the tv I got from donedeal.ie
Using the curtain after making love really cleans your equipment.
My mother-in-law came for dinner, I had four great big t-bone steaks on, we all like ours well done, mum-in-law prefers medium rare. I was just putting the steak on to the plate when …. sllliiiiiippppp …. in to the dirty dishwater. I lifted it up, ran it under the tap and placed it on her plate, garnished with asparagus (she is the MIL after all!), boiled spuds, mushrooms, onions and a splash of oxo on top. She said it was the nicest bit of meat she had in a long time. Ignorance is bliss.

1. Use a little vinegar in the water while washing windows, brings up a lovely shine.
2. If you want a clean microwave, put half a lemon into a bowl and put in the microwave for about 5 mins. It loosens all the goo and gives a lovely smell too.
3. I put a little splash of bleach in to all my surface cleaners, cuts through dirt great.
4. Use some bread paper to put a lovely shine on your solid fuel or oil cooker tops.
