We are looking for a Senior Java Web Developer to take responsibility for the DoneDeal web site.

Some details about DoneDeal:

DoneDeal was set up in 2005
We are based in in lovely offices in Wexford town
DoneDeal has over 1.5 million Irish visits each month

We keep growing exponentially by 15% every month. This means we have over 2 million visits by the time you start working with us, and with your help we will grow even faster.

We are currently in second place (after Daft.ie) on the Irish internet audience measurement website, IrelandMetrix. OK, we know, the IrelandMetrix does not cover ALL Irish web sites, yet, but we are still very happy to be close to the top.

Also, DoneDeal has hit a lucky streak with the awards:

You Need These Points:

You MUST be one of Ireland’s best Java programmers
You MUST be a really friendly, fun, and happy person
Have lots of Java, J2EE, Servlets, and JSP experience, preferably with Tomcat or JBoss (at least 4 years real-world experience)
Have lots of experience developing software in an organised and structured way
Ability to work independently

And these points earn you extra cred:

Java web stuff: Struts, Spring, JavaServer Faces, Hibernate, JDBC
Web stuff: HTML/XHTML, CSS, HTTP, Ajax
Development techniques: Agile development, Test driven development
Scalability/Manageability: JMS, MQ, JMX, LDAP
Databases: PostgreSQL or MySQL
Tools: Eclipse, Subversion, UML

Your main responsibilities at DoneDeal will be:

Java & JSP development for the DoneDeal web site
Create JSP, HTML & CSS that works in all popular browsers
Take responsibility for major projects on the web site
Take responsibility for minor projects: bugs, user interface enhancements, etc

But we also want you to be involved in other things, for example:

Research new tools & technologies
Communicate directly with our users through our blog, Facebook, Twitter, email, etc
Updates to the database
Manage our blog & help systems (WordPress & Drupal)
And anything else that you are interested in…
