Growing too Big too Fast

Monday, December 15th, 2008

We have the luxury problem of growing too fast. In November over 580,000 people visited our site, and it is getting too much for our little server.

Of course we do not complain about this problem, on the contrary, we are absolutely delighted that so many people use our site. But when the server gets too busy the web site gets slower, and slow web sites are at the top of my list of annoying things, right up there with lukewarm tea and soggy sandwiches.

So over the next few weeks we will move DoneDeal to a bigger and better server, we are trying to find a cool one with go-faster-stripes.

Santa’s Little Helper

We are delighted that Santa was so touched by Nancy Levaro’s story, from Ballysheedy in Co. Limerick, that he is sending Nancy and her family to Sligo for a couple of days, and they even get to visit him in the Sligo Folk Park.

Read Nancy’s story for a wonderful Christmas tale!

Check out all the GREAT comments/stories/anecdotes/poems to put you in the Christmas spirit.
